2009 PROGRAM INFORMATION (GIRLS)

 

What is High Performance?

The Florida Region High Performance program is basically an All-Star program that allows outstanding youth and junior volleyball athletes to play for college coaches and represent the Florida Region at an international volleyball tournament called the USA Volleyball National High Performance Championships. 

 

The progression for players to be considered for a Florida Region HP team is as follows:

1. TRYOUT - All interested players must tryout (see Tryout Information below)

2. TRAINING & SELECTION CAMP - 24-36 players per age division

3. TRIP TO FT. LAUDERDALE - 10-12 players per team

 

Competition Dates:

July 21, 2009 to July 26, 2009

(Note: Players will meet on July 20th in Ft. Lauderdale)

3:30p - 5:30p, Check-in at hotel  (REMEMBER TO EAT DINNER DURING THIS TIME!)

6:00p - 7:00p, Player/Parent Meeting (Grand Ballroom @ Hotel)

7:00p - 7:15p, Individual Team Meetings

7:30p - Meet in Lobby (Dressed and ready for practice!)

8:00p - 9:30p, Practice Session @ Convention Center (ALL TEAMS)

Costs Per Player:

$150 per player for the Training & Selection Camp (Due in full by May 15, 2009 to reserve your spot.)  Training Camp fee includes lodging, training camp, practice t-shirts, partial meals ($15 day for breakfast & lunch), insurance, & program administration.

 

$500 per player for the Travel Team (Due in full by Friday, Jun 12, 2009 to reserve your spot.)  Includes lodging, uniforms, tournament entry fee, partial meals ($15 day for breakfast & lunch), insurance, & program administration

By Jun 19 - 100%

By Jun 30 - 50%

After Jun 30 - 0%

Select (SEL) - Born in or after 1994

Youth (YNT) - Born in 1992 or 1993

Juniors (JNT) - Born in 1990, or 1991

INFORMATION ON MEALS:

Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the Florida Region for players attending the tournament.  Players should bring enough meal money to cover dinner each day.  The amount you bring is up to you...we do not have a set itinerary for restaurants at this point.  $20-$25 per day should cover additional food costs.  Players are welcome to bring their own food.

Tryout Fee:

$50 in advance (up to 1 day prior to the tryout date)

$65 onsite

6:30p - Tryouts Begin

8:30p - Tryouts End

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: All players attending a Regional HP Tryout MUST bring a copy of their USAV membership card and their notarized USAV Medical Release Form.  All USAV Players should carry a copy of these two documents with them at all times!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Players are responsible to bring the following items to the Training & Selection Camp: shoes, socks, spandex (black or navy only), knee pads, Regional HP tryout t-shirt, club warm-ups, backpack/gym bag, water bottle, medical release form (notarized) and any prescribed medications.  Additional Training Camp t-shirts will be provided once you arrive.

Note: The mandatory player/parent meeting for teams traveling to Ft. Lauderdale will take place at 6pm on Mon, Jul 20th at the Ft. Lauderdale Marina Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: Lodging for players is included in the program fee.  Players will stay 4 to a room and rooming assignments will be made by the head coach and program administrators.  Players will be required to stay with their team.  Parents will need to coordinate their own room reservations.  Please call the hotel directly for availability and/or recommendations on other nearby hotels.
